kividoo is a subscription-based video-on-demand offer ( SVoD ) that is wholly owned by RTL Disney Fernsehen GmbH & Co. KG and launched in April 2015. Kividoo offers access to 3,500 series episodes, radio plays and films aimed at children. The service is expected to be discontinued in the course of 2020.

Content

Kividoo's offerings include (since the start) series, films, documentaries and (since July 2016) radio plays that are suitable for children. These include titles from DreamWorks Animation , Sony Entertainment , Mattel , Endemol, and other production companies. Some series (seasons) or episodes are published in advance on kividoo before they are broadcast in Germany, such as King Julien (Season 6) and Ninjago .

On May 27, 2019, the portal got a new design and new functions.

Features

The kividoo navigation adapts to the specified age of the user. Preschoolers are addressed exclusively through visual representation; texts are only displayed for school-age children. Parents can also determine which content they recommend as appropriate. If a title is classified as unsuitable, it will not be displayed in the offer. Period of use and duration of use can be defined in the basic settings.

Technical details

Kividoo is available in both HD and SD quality on mobile devices ( iOS , Android ) as a desktop version and via Airplay / Fire TV. The portal offers a download function for all content as well as numerous settings for video access (blacklist, whitelist, etc.). The offer costs 7.99 euros per month and can be canceled on a monthly basis.
