Kjeld Holm

Kjeld Holm (born July 18, 1945 in Diernæs near Hoptrup ) is a Lutheran theologian and former bishop of the Danish People's Church .

Life

Holm studied at the University of Aarhus and obtained his master's degree in the history of ideas in 1972 and the exam in theology in 1974 . Holm then worked as a Lutheran pastor in Vejlby, a suburb of Aarhus , and taught part-time at the theological faculty and at the Aarhus seminary . From May 1994 to September 2015 Holm was bishop in the diocese of Aarhus .

Holm translated Paul Tillich's The Lost Dimension into Danish and published numerous books, some together with his teacher Johannes Sløk . He has received several medals and prizes, including the Dannebrogorden and the Salmon of the Year award (for swimming against the current) from the LBGT Danmark regional association .
