Klaipėda Brass Quintet

The Klaipėd Brass Quintet (lit. Klaipėdos brass kvintetas ) is the oldest brass quintet in Lithuania . It belongs to the Klaipėdos koncertų salė concert hall in Klaipėda .

composition

The musicians are Vilmantas Bružas (conductor, trumpet), Alius Maknavičius (trumpet), Steponas Sugintas (trombone), Algirdas Ulteravičius (French horn), Jurgis Dargis (tuba). They are educators at the Klaipėdos universitetas , the Klaipėda Art High School , Klaipėda Conservatory and also play in the Symphony Orchestra of Lithuania Minor and in the Klaipėda Music Theater .

history

The first concert took place in 1986. In 1988 the quintet took 3rd place in the Saratov brass quintet competition and was awarded the diploma of the Philip Jones competition in Hungary . In 1994 the quintet took part in the competition of European chamber ensembles in Alsace ( France ).

The quintet had concerts in Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands and Poland.
