Klaipėda Spring Music
The Klaipėdaer Musikfrühling ( lit.Klaipėdos muzikinis pavasaris ) is the oldest music festival in Lithuania . It has been organized in the port city of Klaipėda , the third largest Lithuanian city, since 1976 . The initiator was then director of the National Philharmonic of Lithuania and composer Rimvydas Žigaitis . Until 2003, the festival was organized by the Klaipėda Department of the National Philharmonic and then by the Klaipėda Music Center. Now it is hosting the Klaipėda Concert Hall ( Klaipėdos koncertų salė ) and the Žvejų rūmai Cultural Center.
The participants were Helen Jahre , pianist Alexander Paley (USA), Oleksandr Kozarenko , Taras Malyk , Kaspar Zehnder , Armin Schibler , Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra , Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra , Symphony Orchestra of Little Lithuania , Lomza Chamber Philharmonic .
