Pressing in and on

Pressing and pressing are methods in which when joining ( connecting the joining members as well as any auxiliary joining parts substantially only be deformed elastically) and unintentional loosening by frictional connection is prevented.

Subdivision:

  • Screws : Creating a screw connection using screws .
  • Clamping : Establishing a clamp through elastic joining parts. The clamping tension is often generated by rigid auxiliary joining parts, which can also only be used for securing. See also: clamp .
  • Parentheses : preparing a stapling by auxiliary joining parts ( brackets aneinanderzupressen) to rigid parts. It is used in the office to bind sheets of paper with paper clips , in medicine after surgery, and in electrical and automotive engineering.
  • Press connection : joining by producing a press . An inner part is pressed into the slightly smaller recess of an outer part. When pressing a press connection , thin-walled press fittings are deformed together with the pipe so that the parts cannot be detached from one another again without further deformation. Press connections, in which thin-walled parts are deformed using special tools, are also known as crimp connections . Manual deformation (of sheet metal parts) is also known as flanging , squeezing, crimping, folding or folding .
  • Nailing, hammering in : creating a nailing or bolting by hammering a nail or bolt into solid material. It is also possible to hit hooks, which in turn act as an auxiliary joining part. Joining by means of bolts that are driven in by explosive force is referred to as bolt setting in DIN 8593-3 .
  • Wedging : Establishing a wedging , ie a self-locking connection using wedges .
  • Bracing : Establishing a bracing , ie a force-fit connection by pressing parts together. See also clamping devices .

The resulting joints can be released again with particular effort, but usually without damaging the material.
