Klangstabil is an electronics project from southern Germany.
history
Klangstabil was founded in 1994 by Maurizio Blanco (* December 8, 1971), together with Boris May (* November 29, 1974). After smaller appearances, a record company became aware of the band and a first vinyl production appeared. Her debut album from 1997, Böhm, Gott der Elektrik , pays homage to the Dr. Böhm organ and the analog-electronic sound generation of the 1970s. In 2000 Gioco Bambino (Italian for Game Boy ) was released, an emphatically monotonous-minimalist album; it was mostly created by a Game Boy . Kantorka from 2001 is a sonic representation of the Krabat novel. In 2008, Math & Emotion focused on the union of ratio and ecstasy.
Familiar , one of Klangstabil's best-known pieces, was written around 2002 and appeared on the annual compilation of the machine festival; the planned album remained unfinished. In 2010 the title was re-released as an independent EP. The artwork comes from the original time and was made by friends, former Die Drei ??? -Graphic artist Aiga Rasch designed.
Klangstabil were often represented at the Maschinenfest in Oberhausen, but also performed at major festivals such as the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig, the Dutch Summer Darkness Festival or the Amphi Festival .

style
Stylistically significantly inspired by Kraftwerk , the spectrum ranges from experimental sound collages to electro pop - a dark electro pop interwoven with synth pads, elaborate rhythms and intense vocals, which the band itself stylizes as sound pop :
- “They call it 'Klangpop'. massive synth surfaces, pulsing sequencer patterns and intense vocals intertwined with precise computerized drum beats add up to memorable tunes (...) elaborated rhythmical work, hidden sound fragments and the specific tension Klangstabil are well-known for ... "
The singing alternates between English, German and Italian. Some pieces are introduced with speech samples.
