Klaus-Dieter Regenbrecht (pseudonym: kloy ) (born April 29, 1950 in Bassum ) is a German writer , lecturer and artist .

life and work

Regenbrecht has been a writer since the mid-1970s. From 1973 to the early 1980s he studied American studies, geography, sports and education in Tübingen and Bonn. Due to his intensive study of American literature, he began to write himself. At the beginning of the eighties he decided to become a writer and founded his own publishing house, Tabu Litu (member of Verlags-Karree eV). That is also the title of the major work, “Tabu Litu - a documentum fragmentum in nine books”, which appeared from 1986 to 1999; the last title was the novel "The Rhineland Papers". Since 1986 he has been a member of the Association of German Writers (Rhineland-Palatinate) and took part in numerous congresses and literary events, including a. in Kaiserslautern (1992), Andernach (2005) and Koblenz (2011, during the Federal Garden Show) as moderator of the event "Rhine Romanticism: Postmodern for 200 Years? Matinee: Early Romanticism - High Romanticism - Late Romanticism - Postmodernism". After 2000 a number of novels and short stories appeared and in 2017 his autobiography in English: "Paradise with Black Spots and Bruises - Stories, Pictures, and Thoughts of a Lifetime". In 2019 the essay “A myth is measured - Rhine, romanticism and a new spatial experience” was published, which presents a new, comprehensive picture of romanticism. The first novel for the essay was published in the same year "The blessed ecstasy of foreseeable disappointment". The romantic trilogy is completed by the novel published in 2020 about the life of Caroline Schlegel-Schelling (1763–1809), the Jena early romanticism about August Wilhelm Schlegel, Friedrich Schlegel and Novalis: “Göttern und Menschen zum Troz - A novel with numerous free adaptations and modifications of div . Swell". In addition to his writing activities, Regenbrecht is also an artist, illustrating his own books and teaching creative writing. In 2014 he received first prize at the “Landschreiber-Literatur-Contest”. He lives in Koblenz .
