Klaus Burmeister

Klaus Burmeister (* 1954 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a futurologist , author and speaker. He deals with the economic and social upheavals and transitions as a result of digitization , the changes in the world of work, disruptive technologies and the future of cities and regions.

After training as a high-voltage electrician and completing his second education , Burmeister studied political science at the universities in Hamburg and Berlin on a scholarship from the Hans Böckler Foundation and graduated in 1986 with a diploma in political science. He then worked as a research assistant on a research project at the Otto Suhr Institute of the Free University of Berlin and at the Institute for Future Studies and Technology Assessment (IZT). From 1990 he built up the Secretariat for Future Research (SFZ) in Gelsenkirchen. In 1997 he co-founded the Z_punkt The Foresight Company. In addition, he was co-editor and editor of the magazine Zukunfts . In 2014 he founded the "foresightlab" in Berlin, which he leads. Since 2016 he has been the managing director of the non-profit initiative D2030.
