Klaus Schenkel (sailor)

Klaus Schenkel (* 1939 ) is a German sailor.

Career

Schenkel's sporting home is the 1903 Berlin Sailing Association . In 1970 he became European champion in the O-dinghy .

In addition to his sporting activities, he worked as a youth and sports warden in his club from the 1960s. He has been its chairman since 1992. Under his chairmanship, the number of members increased to 365. As a race chairman in the Wannsee sailing district, he led numerous German championships and European cups for over 40 years.
