Klaus Schmider

Klaus Schmider (* 1966 ) is a German military historian .

Life

Klaus Schmider studied Medieval and Modern History, Political Science and Public Law at the University of Mainz . In 1994 he delivered his master's thesis on The First Year of War in the Mediterranean Region 1940–1941 . Since May 1999 he has worked in the War Studies Department of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in Camberley, Great Britain as a Senior Lecturer . In 2001 he received his doctorate with Winfried Baumgart in Mainz with the thesis The Partisan War in Yugoslavia 1941-1944 , 2006 in exchange with the Academia de Guerra del Ejército de Chile and 2017 with the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia. He is co-author of volume 8 of the World War II series of the ZMSBW (formerly MGFA):.
