Klaus Soukup

Klaus Soukup (born March 8, 1936 in Magdeburg ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and bank employee. Soukup was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1991 to 1995 .

Life

Soukup attended secondary school after primary school and subsequently worked as a carpet weaver. In 1965 he switched to the metalworking industry, in 1977 he became an employee of a bank. Soukup became involved in local politics as a local councilor in Gramatneusiedl from 1965 , rose to executive councilor in 1970 and held the office of mayor from 1975 to 2004. On December 2, 1991, he replaced Franz Slawik in the Lower Austrian Landtag, of which he was a member until April 25, 1995.
