Klaus Vieweg (legal scholar)

Klaus Vieweg (* 1951 ) is a German lawyer and emeritus professors at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg .

Life

Vieweg studied law and sports at the Universities of Münster and Bielefeld . In 1981 he did his doctorate in Münster with Rudolf Lukes as Dr. jur. In 1989 the habilitation followed, also in Münster. This was accompanied by the award of the venia legendi for the subjects civil law, commercial and company law, German and international business law and civil procedural law.

Subsequently, Vieweg worked as a professor at the economics faculty of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt . In 1991 he moved to the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg , where he held the chair for civil law, legal informatics, technical and commercial law. From 1991 to 2016 Vieweg was also director of the Institute for Law and Technology. He has been retired since 2016.

Vieweg is also a member of the German Academy of Engineering Sciences , board member of the International Association of Sports Law and Vice President of the German Association for Sports Law. Vieweg also has the A trainer license for the sport of artistic gymnastics .

Vieweg's research focuses in particular on club and association law, sports law, tort law, property law as well as technology and commercial law.
