Klaus Witting (* Kronstadt , Romania ) is a director .

Life

Klaus Witting was born in Kronstadt, Romania and moved to Germany with the family in 1974. After high school, various jobs enabled him - from camera assistant to camera / DOP to directing - a multi-year trip around the world, with longer stays mainly in Australia, Papua New Guinea, South Africa and the USA as well as trips to the Ecuadorian Andes or on the water. For the young professional this was an exciting time with many different tasks - from documentary accompanying the high seas regatta "Whitbread Round the World Race" to working on fictional films like "The Noah's Ark Principle".

Enthusiastic and inspired by practice, he began studying film at the Royal College of Art in London in 1983 and graduated in 1988 with a Master of Arts. This was followed by years of directing work for the BBC, Channel Four and ITV as well as in the advertising industry. When Witting returned to Germany in 1997, the focus shifted from directing to television series.
