The Klausenberg is an elevation in Wonnegau in Rhine-Hesse , at the foot of which lies the Worms district of Abenheim .

The Klausenberg is known for the St. Michael chapel built on it and gives the place Abenheim the nickname Klausenberggemeinde.

Countess Agnes von Nassau b. von Leiningen (wife Otto I von Nassau ) received permission from Worms Bishop Emich I to found a monastery in Worms-Abenheim in 1298 , the remainder of which is believed to be today's Klausenberg Chapel. Agnes was a great cousin of the bishop. In 1299 she and her sons Heinrich and Emich confirmed this foundation again.

The Klausenberg Chapel was consecrated to the Archangel Michael and is therefore known as St. Michaels Chapel. It is open once a month for church services and is also a popular place for church weddings and is located on the Rheinhessischer Jakobsweg .
