Piano Sonatas No. 19 and No. 20 (Beethoven)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Sonatas op. 49 were written between 1795 and 1798, before the Pathétique , that is, the sonata with the number 8. Their high number of opus is explained by their late publication.

Both sonatas have only two movements . The first is in the key of G minor , the second in G major . As is usually the case with the three Op. 31 sonatas and the late A flat major sonata , both are not dedicated. Called Easy Sonatas by Beethoven and mastered by good amateurs , they are beautiful, carefree music.
