Klein Eisleben

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Klein Eisleben , also called Lüttchen Eisleben , is a desolate settlement in the district of Lutherstadt Eisleben .

location

It was once northeast of Eisleben's gate at the southern foot of the Hutberg at the confluence of the Volkstedt stream with the Glume.

history

The different spellings and mentions of Klein Eisleben were:

  • 1083 Lütken Isleben
  • 1109 Luttigk Isleben
  • 1121 Hislevo minor or Isleve parvum (minor / parvum = small)
  • 1362 Lutken Ysleibe

Klein Eisleben was first mentioned by Cyriacus Spangenberg in 1083 in the "Mansfeld Chronica". There it is mentioned that Lütken Isleben was destroyed by the imperial troops in the battle between Emperor Heinrich IV and Hermann von Luxemburg, Count von Salm , the counter-king who resided at the Eisleben moated castle, but was then rebuilt.

In this 4th part of the "Mansfeld Chronica" Spangenberg also expressly points out that Klein Eisleben (Hislevo minor) is the original bearer of the name and should therefore be regarded as older than the "Great Eisleben" (Hislevo maior).

In 1342 Klein Eisleben was devastated during the siege of the moated castle and the city of Eisleben by the Braunschweig troops in the dispute over the Halberstadt bishop's feud, but it was also rebuilt here.

In 1362 Klein Eisleben was finally burned down in the still ongoing Halberstadt bishop's feud during the siege of Eisleben by Landgrave Friedrich von Thuringia in front of Count Gebhard von Mansfeld and not rebuilt.

The residents of the settlement settled in the so-called "Petriviertel" (then "Islevo trans aquam" = "Eisleben beyond the water"), the St. Pauls parish in Lütken Eisleben was united with the St. Petri parish, which Petrikirche renamed St. Petri Pauli Church . This probably happened because the Wimmelburg monastery owned both churches and wanted to protect its rights and claims.
