Kleinhausen (desert)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kleinhausen (also Wenigenhausen or Wenigenhusen ) is a desert in the Hochtaunuskreis .

Kleinhausen is mentioned in various documents from 1274 to 1404. It was located between Westerfeld and Hausen-Arnsbach and is considered the predecessor settlement of today's Hausen. The field name still exists today in Kleinhausen . The exact location is unknown.

The place is said to have been abandoned due to its too humid location. Before the construction of the extension of the Heisterbach route , excavations were carried out in the area concerned in summer 2014. A disordered layer of stone was excavated, which the digging archaeologists interpreted as the remains of the walls of a medieval building. There was also a fireplace and ceramic fragments . However, these were dated to the time around 1,200 BC. At this point in time there was already a prehistoric settlement at this point.
