The Klewang (also Klewang Tjara or Klewang Lamang ) is a sword with a multitude of versions used by the Moro people , a Filipino people of Malay descent.
history
The Klewang was developed by Malay tribes. When they emigrated, the Moro tribes took the sword with them to the Philippines . There it became a traditional part of the Moros. It is still in use today.
description
The Klewang has a straight, single-edged blade that widens towards the front from the handle (handle) and is inclined (cut off) at the point (tip). In other versions, the tip is rounded or tapered long. The blade length is about 60 cm. The total length about 80 cm. The handle is usually made of wood or horn. It comes in many forms. Some are decorated with carvings, others with tufts of hair. The handle (handle) usually consists of one piece and has a metal fitting together with the scabbard .
