Kliebensuppe , also known as clackers , clackers , etc., is a sweet, cinnamon- flavored milk soup with dumplings that are made so that the dough can flow into the boiling soup. Milk is brought to a boil with cinnamon and salt. At the same time, a thick dough is prepared from flour, egg, sugar, salt and three-eighths of water. As soon as the milk boils, you let the dough run into the milk as a thread from the whisk or wooden spoon. The soup is allowed to continue to boil at low heat until the dumplings float on top. The soup was served hot.

In the 19th century, chevron soup with black bread was one of the traditional morning meals of farm workers in the Pomerania region , but it was also eaten in the evening. Even contemporary observers considered it part of a very undemanding, down-to-earth diet. Whether the soup was actually refined with sugar and cinnamon under such circumstances may be an open question; In any case, these ingredients are not expressly mentioned in the cited descriptions of farm workers' meals.
