The KEA Klimaschutz- und Energieagentur Baden-Württemberg GmbH (short: KEA-BW ) is a climate protection and energy agency that was founded in 1994 on the initiative of the state government of Baden-Württemberg . As an independent service provider, it advises and supports municipalities, health facilities, church institutions as well as small and medium-sized companies in industry, trade and housing with regard to energy saving , efficient use of energy and the use of renewable energies . KEA-BW is mainly financed by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Environment

In the past, the majority shareholder of KEA-BW was the state of Baden-Württemberg. The remaining shares were held by the state's performance-related energy supply companies (represented by the Baden-Württemberg Association for Energy and Water Management ), GBR 3 (Chamber of Crafts, Associations, Companies) and the Baden-Württemberg State Nature Conservation Association .

The state of Baden-Württemberg has been the sole shareholder since restructuring.

A total of 38 employees work at KEA-BW. The managing director is Volker Kienzlen.

In 2018, KEA-BW signed the WIN Charter sustainability management system .
