The St. Blasien Clinic in the Black Forest is now Germany's highest lung specialist clinic.

geography

The St. Blasien Clinic is located near the center of the St. Blasien health resort in the Waldshut-Tiengen district . The climate in the region is characterized by a wind-protected and low-fog weather situation. The delayed vegetation leads to a low-allergen air and is therefore particularly suitable for people with respiratory diseases.

history

Present and Future

The St. Blasien Lung Clinic has a catchment area that extends across southwest Germany. The clinic is operated by Klinik St. Blasien GmbH. A rehabilitation clinic and the Haus Luise nursing home are connected.

It is expected that in 2020, the inpatient treatment offer of the pulmonary clinic with an intermediate care station for ventilation weaning will be relocated to the BDH clinic Waldkirch in the district of Emmendingen, around 75 km away . Only individual components are to remain in St. Blasien, for example sleep medicine, but not in the previous building, but in a currently planned medical center.

Areas of the clinic

The range of treatments includes pulmonology , endoscopy , allergology , internal medicine , sleep medicine and respiratory medicine. All forms of respiratory and lung diseases such as chronic bronchitis , asthma , lung tumors, and tuberculosis are treated.
