Clinker brick slips

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Clinker brick slips are thin brick slices for facade cladding , which should give the impression of massive masonry .

Use and processing

Clinker brick slips are applied inside and outside of buildings with flexible adhesive. The wall surface cannot be visually differentiated from conventional, solid masonry (when using special angled brick slips for building corners). In addition to purely decorative purposes, they are mainly used as a final layer on thermal insulation composite systems if the impression of a previously existing brickwork is to be retained (renovation) or to be achieved in a new building. Their face side formats correspond to the formats of the face sides of normal full clinker bricks . Their thickness can be between 9 and 14 mm, but other thicknesses are possible. Their material properties largely correspond to those of full clinker bricks.
