Kloa Rookery

The Kloa Rookery is a breeding colony of emperor penguins on the coast of the East Antarctic Kempland . It lies on the sea ice at the Kloa headland .
Peter Hugh Clemence (* 1925), Squadron Leader of the Royal Australian Air Force for Antarctic flights from Mawson Station , discovered them during a flyover with a DHC-2 Beaver in 1957. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named them after the neighboring headland.
