Toilet brush
A toilet brush or toilet brush , colloquially Klobürste , in Austria Klobesen , is a brush that is used to clean the inside of the toilet bowl .
Models
Simple toilet brushes only consist of the handle and the brush head. Other models have an additional small brush head on the side. This should make it easier to remove splashes and incrustations on and under the edge of the toilet bowl.
Another variant has exchangeable brush heads. The robustness of the bristles is another quality feature. Similar to cheap toothbrushes , bristles that are too soft or that wear out quickly form clumps. The surface properties of the bristles also play a role - the rougher the bristles, the faster they get dirty. Polypropylene bristles are used for mass-produced goods .
Toilet brush holders
Different sensations lead to a diversification of the shapes of toilet brush holders. Design aspects , olfactory and hygienic considerations lead to contradictions in the design of toilet brush holders. As a rule of thumb, the better the bristles are optically protected, the more difficult it is for waste water to evaporate. As a negative example, cylindrical holders are cited in which the brush is completely sunk if it also has a precisely fitting lid. Existing air slots only serve an alibi function - at the bottom of the cylinder there is inevitably a growing amount of foul-smelling, unsanitary sewage.
Constructions

- Small amounts of water , feces, and toilet paper inevitably get stuck on the bristles of toilet brushes. Newer designs therefore do without bristles, but use plastic or silicone scrapers to clean the toilet. The parts can be treated with silver for antibacterial reasons , some models have a very smooth surface and thus use the lotus effect to keep them clean.
