Top view of the clockwork of a gear clock from approx. 1880. In the foreground you can see the cock that holds the armature shaft .
The clamp is a bearing holder in the mechanical clockwork that is only connected to the plate on one side . One end of the cock protrudes freely over a gear , drive , balance or several gears. This differs from the bridge . Thin cocks such as B. Anchor blocks are sometimes referred to as barrettes .
