Klopzow

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Klopzow is a desert west of the Prelitzsee in the area of today's municipality Rechlin in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . A management as "Gut Klopzow" is documented since the 14th century. In 1910 62 people lived there. In 1936, the Rechlin Air Force Testing Center took over the district to test weapons there. A decree of August 14, 1939 incorporated the previously independent community, which no longer had any residents, with eight others, including the now also desolate Leppin and Roggentin, into the community of Rechlin. After the Second World War , the Red Army used the site, after which it lay fallow. Since July 9, 1999, the desert has been part of the “ Müritzteilufer bei Rechlin ” nature reserve .
