Beuditz Monastery

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Beuditz Abbey was a Cistercian nunnery near Weißenfels in present-day Saxony-Anhalt, first mentioned in a document in 1232 .

history

The monastery, which was run according to the Cistercian rule, but (like many nunneries) was not incorporated into the order, is attributed to a hospital that was donated by Mechtild von Lobdaburg in Prittitz in 1218 . In 1232 it was moved to Beuditz , today part of the city of Weißenfels. It was repealed by Moritz von Sachsen in 1544.

Plant and buildings

Nothing has survived from the monastery.
