Buildings and plant
The layout of the 13th century essentially corresponded to what was customary in the order. In the late 15th century, the church's conversion area and nave were abandoned. In 1633 the choir became a parish church, while the adjoining buildings fell into disrepair. The north transept was turned into a burial place for Sir George Bruce in 1642. The abbey was restored in 1823 and 1905.
