Walter Falk

Walter Falk (born February 8, 1924 in Sandweier ; † September 18, 2000 in Marburg ) was a German literary scholar and philosopher, co-founder of the Marburg Circle for Epoch Research and author of the literary component analysis.

Life

After returning from captivity, Falk studied German , philosophy , English and Romance studies at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg . 1957 followed by a doctorate in German studies. Between 1960 and 1965, Falk was a lecturer in German language and literature at the University of Madrid . After his return he worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Modern German Literature at the University of Marburg . 1968 followed the habilitation and the professorship for modern German literature in Marburg. Walter Falk was visiting professor at the University of Cairo from 1976 to 1979 in order to test his discovery of the component structure of meaning in literature in the Arabic-speaking world . Retired in 1989, he held lectures and seminars at the University of Marburg until his death.
