history

The Aulnay Monastery from the Savigny Monastery congregation acquired properties in the La Boulaye district in 1134. First a chapel was built, traces of which can still be seen. Around 1170 there was an unsuccessful attempt (Peugniez: essai malheureux) to found a Cistercian abbey.
