Norraby Monastery

The monastery Norraby is a Carmelite monastery in Tågarp , a town in the municipality of Svalöv near the town of Landskrona in the Swedish province County Skåne , the southernmost province of Sweden.

The precursor was a Carmelite site in Svalöv , which was founded in 1963. The Flemish Carmelites Martinus Martin, Wilfrid Stinissen and Emmanuel Martens bought buildings and land and set up a monastery, which was built in 1968; The prior of the foundation was Br. Emmanuel Martens. One of the priests of the convent is Anders Cardinal Arborelius , who lived here as a friar from 1971 to 1998.
