The monastery of Sanctus Angelus in Rufiniano (Rufiniane) was a Cistercian abbey in the Latin Empire from 1225 to 1261 , now in Turkey. It was in Chalcedon (today Kadıköy, a district on the Asian side of Istanbul).
history
The monastery was founded in the time of the Latin Empire in 1225 by the monastery of Sanctus Angelus in Petra in Constantinople , a daughter of the Hautecombe monastery in Savoy, and thus belonged to the filiation of the Clairvaux primary abbey . It came to an end with the Latin Empire in 1261.
