The Strzelno Monastery was a monastery of the Premonstratensian Sisters in Strzelno in Kuyavia in Poland from the 12th to the 19th century.

history

The monastery was founded shortly before 1190 by the nobleman Petrus Wszeborowic with the support of some princes and noblemen. The nuns came from the monastery Kościolna Wieś near Kalisch, the monastery was subordinate to the St. Vincent monastery in Wroclaw. The first document from 1193 has been preserved, it contains a rich basic equipment of the monastery with 13 villages.

From Strzelno further Premonstratensian monasteries were founded in Poland, such as the Zuckau (Żukowo) monastery in 1212 and the monastery in Krzyżanowice in 1247 (again). The Prämonstratenerinnenstift Czarnowanz (Czarnowąsy) was subordinated to Strzelno in 1419.

In 1837 the monastery was dissolved and the church was placed under the diocese. Since then it has been used as a parish church.
