Trappist monastery Val Notre-Dame

Val Notre-Dame Monastery has been a Canadian Trappist monastery since 2009 in Saint-Jean-de-Matha, a place in the Matawinie municipality in the Quebec region ( Canada ).

history

Between 2007 and 2009, the Trappists from Oka Monastery, west of Montreal, closed their Notre-Dame du Lac house and moved the community to the newly built buildings in Val Notre-Dame (Madonna Valley) in Saint-Jean-de-Matha, Joliette diocese .

The monastery maintains a modern guest house and sells sweets from its own production.
