history

middle Ages

Wulfshagen is first mentioned in a document in 1233. It is known that the settlement was inhabited by a Zepelin family in the second half of the 14th century , after which it was renamed Zepelin-Wulfshagen .

18th and 19th centuries

On December 6, 1730, the family sold the settlement for 17,500 thalers to the Poor Clare monastery in Ribnitz , which they renamed Wulfshagen Monastery . Around 1750, the village church was built on the highest elevation of the village , and it still characterizes the townscape today. In the middle of the 19th century, the Adolf von Neumann family became the new tenants of Kloster-Wulfshagen. After her death, the widow Caroline remains on the estate with her relative Otto Lembke . In 1898 there were a total of 125 inhabitants.

20th century

In 1911 the new tenant Franz von Neumann took over the church. His barn burned down in 1928 because there was not enough water to extinguish the fire. After the end of the Second World War , the family was evicted from the estate in 1945; Refugees move into the manor house. Four years later, a total of 335 residents live in Wulfshagen Monastery, 253 of them resettlers. In order to provide the large number of people with living space, a building committee was founded in 1950, which included the incumbent mayor Anneliese Jetzt, the chairman of the National Front and two new farmers . In 1957 a culture room and a fire fighting equipment shed are built. On August 13, 1959, the settlement merged with the neighboring Brünkendorf. In 1969 a consumer sales point was built in the former school room , which considerably improved the supply of food to the residents. 1983 Wulfshagen Monastery celebrates its 750th anniversary.
