The Walkenried Monastery Market is an event that has been held annually on a September weekend since 2008 on the site of the former Cistercian Monastery of Walkenried . The respective number of visitors is estimated at around 12,000 people.

The monastery market goes back to an initiative of the then district curator and director of the Cistercian Museum Reinhard Roseneck , who won the St. Ottilien Archabbey in 2008 for the idea of a monastery market in southern Lower Saxony. The Protestant parish of Walkenried (Evangelical Lutheran parish of St. Maria and Martini) was there as host from the start.
