Clubheads

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Klubbheads are a two-person Dutch production team in the field of electronic dance music, which was particularly successful in Europe in the late 1990s. The best-known productions include the singles Klubbhopping , Kickin 'Hard and Turn Up The Bass . The sound of the Klubbheads can best be classified as Hard House , whereby the so-called Klubbheads Style is often spoken of. The most famous trademark of many of their songs is a distinctive bassline, which is referred to as a bamboo bass.

history

The Klubbheads team originally consisted of the three members Koen Groeneveld (DJ BoozyWoozy), Addy van der Zwan (Itty Bitty) and Jan Voermans (Greatski). However, Voermans left the team in 2005. While Groeneveld and van der Zwan worked together in the early 1990s, Voermans only joined the formation in 1995. Then the three started their first own label 'Blue Records' in the same year, which they founded for the record company 'Mid-Town Records', and were henceforth active under the name “Klubbheads”. Their third release, Klubbhopping , which became a club hit across Europe, marked the breakthrough for the trio. In addition to other singles, which have proven to be commercially successful, especially in the Netherlands, Germany and England, the Klubbheads became increasingly popular remixers and received remix orders for the Vengaboys , DJ Supreme , Sash , Scooter and Salt'N'Pepa , among others . The consequence of these sometimes very popular works was that the Klubbheads' first album, entitled Kick you Hard , which was released in 1998, contained a selection of their most famous remixes in addition to their own productions. In 1999 the Klubbheads left Blue Records and founded their own record company called 'Digidance' in Vlaardingen near Rotterdam , which also included various other sub-labels such as 'DNA Records', 'Digi White', 'MoBizz' and 'Danceplanet Recordings' . Here they published their own tracks as well as productions by other artists. In March 2009 the record company Digidance BV filed for bankruptcy.

Pseudonyms

Groeneveld, van der Zwan and Voermans continue to appear in an almost unmanageable number of pseudonyms, under which they sometimes also produced very successfully. The release E under the pseudonym Drunkenmunky is even the greatest commercial success of the trio, which reached the top ten of the German single charts in 2002. Other pseudonyms of the club heads include: 2 Hi , The Caramel Club , Chainside , Club Scene Investigators , Code Blue , Cut The Cake , Da Klubb Kings , Delano & Crockett , DJ Disco , Dutch Maffia , Frantic Explosion , Greenfield , Hardliners , Hi_Tack , Infectious! , Itty Bitty Boozy Woozy , K&A , KA-22 , Koen Groeneveld & Addy van der Zwan , LCD-J , Los Pampas Feat.
