Bang device
A bang device or blank-firing device is a device for deterrence of wildlife and birds on agricultural land.
Either by blank cartridges or by burning gas, an explosion bang is generated at irregular time intervals or in rare cases movement-controlled , which is intended to drive away game and birds to avoid game damage .
Functional example: A bang device is connected to a propane gas cylinder and switched on. The device is activated by a timer and emits a single bang or a sequence of bangs at irregular intervals.
The noise emissions caused by such devices are considerable. Use in the vicinity of residential areas can therefore be prevented - for example, in Section 7 (3) of the State Immission Control Act of December 20, 2000 for Rhineland-Palatinate, the defense against animals by means of bang devices is regulated as follows:
- “The operation of acoustic equipment and devices to keep animals away in vineyards or in other endangered agricultural cultivation areas, which can cause considerable annoyance to local residents, requires the approval of the competent authority. The permit should only be granted if the keeping away cannot be achieved with other proportionate means. "
