Knard is a kids app for iOS and Android that was released in February 2015. The app tells the story of a forest gnome in rhyme form, the format of the app corresponds to a multimedia e-book . The app was awarded the German children's software award TOMMI (special award for kindergarten and preschool) in 2015.

action

The innocent forest gnome Knard lives on the edge of a warlike world, far away from the continually fighting peoples of trolls, knights and magicians. Only when their arguments culminate in the emergence of an all-destructive weapon that does not even stop at its creator, Knard's peaceful world is touched by war. When his homeland is destroyed, he sets out to find the culprits - not because he is fearless and self-confident - but rather by overcoming his own fears, driven by friendship and a sense of justice. Knard is not a hero who wins wars, but one who prevents them.

In this way Knard wins the trust of the youngest children of the three peoples, who bequeath their magic stones to him, because only with these can Knard avert the destruction of the world and give peace to the peoples. And it is only up to the youngest children of all nations, the book concludes, to keep this peace.

Production notes

The speaker of the app is the voice actor Thomas Rauscher .
