Knieper (food)
In Knieper is the shearing of the bag cancer . Helgoland Knieper are a well-known specialty of the cuisine on the German North Sea island of Helgoland .
In the Helgoland language Halunder as well as in Low German , Knieper stands for "Kneifer", which means the crabs' gripping tools.
Knieper are served hot in Helgoland restaurants and usually in portions of one kilogram . In addition to toast bread or baguette , butter and several sauces (garlic sauce, curry or other) enough. The diner uses a special knee cutlery to hollow out the armor. Sometimes the restaurant guest has to break open the scissors himself with a pair of pliers in order to make it easier to remove the meat inside.
