The external appearance and the concrete roof are modern additions. The chamber of the megalithic complex is one of the shorter of the type and is only 7.3 m long and 1.7 m wide. Almost the entire system is made of sheet material as dry masonry . A four meter long corridor leads from the south-east into the chamber, which is divided into three side niches and one head niche by large vertical stone slabs.

Bones from at least 29 adults were found in the facility, but only 17 skulls. The remains of at least 36 deer, along with a number of flint knives and scrapers, made up the grave goods .

Blackhammer , Taversoe Tuick and Midhowe Cairn are all nearby .
