The Knox Railroad is a former railway company in Maine ( United States ). It was founded on August 10, 1889 as "George's Valley Railroad" and operated a 12.9 kilometer standard-gauge line from Warren to Union and a 0.8 kilometer connecting railway to a lime kiln . In Warren there was a connection to the route of the Knox and Lincoln Railway . The routes were opened in December 1893. In the 1909/10 financial year, the company's fleet consisted of a steam locomotive, a wagon that could accommodate both passengers and goods, and two company cars. In the year 5,950 passengers and 20,279 tons of freight were transported.

In 1918 the railway company wanted to shut down the line. However, since the Knox Lime Co. , one of the most important customers of the railway, wanted to continue operating, they took over the largest share of the George's Valley Railroad and founded the company in "Knox Railroad". Nevertheless, in 1932 operations were discontinued and a large part of the line was closed except for the connection to the lime kiln. In 1940 operations on this connection also ended.
