Rudi Wendel

Rudi Wendel (* 1911 in Niederscheld ; † October 7, 2006 ) was a German entrepreneur .

Wendel had two siblings and learned the enamelling technique in the Franck'schen Eisenwerke. From 1932 he worked for his father's company, Karl, Dillenburger Wendel Email GmbH , which was founded in the same year at the Dillenburg freight yard. He stayed with his company until 1997, which he also managed. In 1934 he married his wife Paula, with whom he was married for 72 years.

The development of the company after the Second World War took place under his leadership . Today the Wendel company is the world market leader for powder enamel and has subsidiaries in Spain , France , Italy and Chile . At the time of Wendel's death in 2006, the Dillenburg plant had over 100 employees.

Rudi Wendel died at the age of 95. He left behind his wife, two sons, a daughter, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
