Knut Dietrich

Knut Dietrich (* 1936 ) is a German sports educator and university lecturer .

Life

From 1973 until his retirement on June 1, 2000, Dietrich was Professor of Sports Education at the University of Hamburg . In his scientific work, he dealt with, among other things, the culture of exercise, the city as a space for movement, child-friendly urban planning, exercise and sports in schools (including sports lessons), the didactics of sports games, forms of staging in sports, body language, sports clubs, sports games and Employment opportunities with commercial sports providers.

On the occasion of his retirement, the book “City and Movement” was published. Dietrich was the director of the Hamburger Forum Spielräume eV, founded in 1995. In 2006 Dietrich was awarded the Golden Badge of Honor by the German Association for Sports Science .
