Coaserine

The Koaserin is a nature reserve that has existed since 2005 in the Upper Austrian communities of Peuerbach , Heiligenberg and Neukirchen am Walde .
The Koaserin is a wet meadow area that is periodically flooded by the Leitenbach . According to counts, there are 265 fern and flowering plants and 86 different bird species in the protected area . Many of them are on the Red List of Endangered Species . Even beavers and otters are native here.
Due to the high water absorption capacity of the soil, the Koaserin is a natural retention basin for flood protection .
