history

Neukirchen am Walde was mentioned together with Natternbach in a document by Otto von Norderenbar as early as the 9th century , so it can be assumed that these two localities were part of Norderenbar at that time and only with the partial lease and border relocation of the land whether the Enns was divided into two independent localities by the Archduchy of Bavaria.

Located in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria, the place has belonged to the Duchy of Austria since the 12th century. Since 1490 it has been assigned to the Principality of Austria ob der Enns .

During the battle of the Upper Austrian Peasants' War on September 19, 1626, the town sank to rubble and ashes.

During the Napoleonic Wars , the place was occupied several times. Since 1918 the place belongs to the federal state of Upper Austria. After the connection of Austria to the German Reich on 13 March 1938, the place to "Upper Danube" belonged. In 1945 Upper Austria was restored.

coat of arms

Blazon : “In black on a green three-mountain (on the middle and left dome) a silver, single-tower, red-covered and black-opened Gothic church with two golden knobs on the wedge roof of the tower and two golden gable crosses on the gable roof of the ship; on the right accompanied by green, dense deciduous trees (= forest). "

The municipality colors are black, white and green.
