St. Thomas (also Sankt Thomas ) is a municipality in Upper Austria in the Grieskirchen district in the Hausruckviertel with 549 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). The community is located in the judicial district of Grieskirchen .
geography
St. Thomas is 393 m above sea level in the Hausruckviertel. The extension is 2.6 km from north to south and 4.4 km from west to east. The total area is 6.1 km². 9.8% of the area is forested, 82.% of the area is used for agriculture.

Waters
St. Thomas is drained by the Prambach, which flows into the Aschach near Punzing .

Blazon : Divided by gold and green; above a red square measure that sweeps upwards, below a silver asparagus branch with six leaves and a red fruit core.
The community colors are yellow-green.
history
Originally located in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria, the place belonged to the Duchy of Austria since the 12th century. Since 1490 it has been assigned to the Principality of Austria ob der Enns .
During the Napoleonic Wars , the place was occupied several times. Since 1918 the place belongs to the federal state of Upper Austria. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on March 13, 1938, the place belonged to the Gau Oberdonau . In 1945 Upper Austria was restored.
St. Thomas was part of the judicial district of Waizenkirchen until 1923 and was added to the judicial district of Grieskirchen after this judicial district was dissolved. At the same time, the community was detached from the Eferding district and part of the Grieskirchen district.
On January 1st, 2019, the communities Michaelnbach , Pollham and St. Thomas began working together in an administrative community .

Mayor is Josef Lehner from the ÖVP.
Population development
In 1991 the municipality had 417 inhabitants according to the census, in 2001 it had 459 inhabitants. As both the birth balance and the migration balance were positive, the population rose to 490 in 2011.

- Franz Fellinger (1865–1940) was Roman Catholic Auxiliary Bishop in the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem , Rector of the Austrian Hospice for the Holy Family and Regent for Austria of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem .
