Kointos
Kointos ( ancient Greek Κοίντος ) was a Greek gem cutter who worked in the early Roman Empire . His father was the gem cutter Alexas , who was probably born in the first century BC. Was active and passed his art on to his sons Kointos and Aulos .
A signature of the cointos is only preserved on the fragment of a sardonyx on which the leg of a figure equipped with the weapons of Mars is shown. The stone is in the National Archaeological Museum in Florence .
