Kolin ( Chinese  歌林 公司 , Pinyin Gēlín gōngzi , listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange under No. 1606) is a large electrical and consumer goods company in the Republic of China (Taiwan) . After it was founded in 1963, black and white televisions were produced, and refrigerators, washing machines and air conditioning systems began to be manufactured in the 1970s. The record company Kolin Records released records with Taiwanese music. In 1981 the joint venture Ling-Lin Electric was founded with Mitsubishi Electric ; Products included car phones. The karaoke systems, which are extremely popular in Taiwan, made Kolin even more famous. In the 1990s, investments in the construction sector and in the semiconductor industry were added. In 1997 Kolin invested in the Taiwanese LCD panel manufacturer Hannstar and thus secured access to the future-oriented flat screen market.

Products today are household appliances such as kitchen machines, air conditioning systems and flat screen televisions, which are mostly manufactured in the People's Republic of China and often in contract manufacturing ( OEM or ODM ), but also CDs, printed circuit boards and semiconductor components. The Olevia brand , under which Syntax-Brillian sells Kolins LCD televisions, is already well established in North America. Recently, Kolin has also appeared under its own brand as a manufacturer of LCD televisions (production volume 2005: 300,000 units) and wants to become better known worldwide. The turnover in 2005 was 11,268 million TWD , approx. 289.6 million EUR.

Kolin is a member of the Taiwanese Small Appliances Alliance of the respected Research Institute for Industrial Technology (ITRI) in order to be able to quickly transfer its findings on the further development of household appliances into marketable products.
