Kolja Malik (* 1990 in Berlin ) is a German film director and screenwriter .

Life

Kolja Malik began very early to write scripts and to film some of them himself. In 2008 he took first place at the German Youth Video Prize and second prize at the Federal Festival of German Film Authors with the experimental 3-minute Beduinen des Westens . His 50-minute film Burn it down was nominated for the Youth Film Prize at the Baden-Württemberg Film Show in 2012.

At the age of 21, Malik began working on his feature film debut And in the End All Are Alone , which premiered in 2015 at the Festival of German Films and which opened in cinemas in early 2016.

2017 turned Malik medium-length film Storkow Kalifornia with Daniel Roth , Lana Cooper and Franziska Ponitz , the section in February 2018 Perspektive Deutsches Kino of Berlin International Film Festival opened (Berlinale) and in the Short Film Corner of the International Film Festival of Cannes in 2018 was seen .
